John Stebbins was born (1956) and raised in Calcasieu Parish, moving to Beauregard Parish in 1997, and built his home on property owned by his family since 1957, in the southern part of the parish. He is married to Tina Hatfield Stebbins and has two sons, a step daughter, and three grandchildren. His career has mostly been in the exploration and production end of the oilfield industry. Currently, he serves as the Safety and OSHA compliance manager for Calcasieu Rentals, Inc. in Lake Charles. He has, since the early 1980’s, managed family properties in Jefferson Davis, Cameron, Calcasieu, Vermillion, and Beauregard parishes, for farming, grazing, timber, and oil and gas use.
Mr. Stebbins is a lifelong Catholic, a political and social conservative, and has been involved for many years, as a citizen, in his local parish government. His philosophy on government is that it should intrude as little as possible on the rights and funds of the people it serves, while providing services that the citizens want and need. His vision is always on the future, and eliminating today, what will be a problem tomorrow.
