Jerry Shirley was born on October 23, 1944 and is a lifelong resident of DeRidder, Louisiana, in Beauregard Parish. He graduated from DeRidder High School in 1962 and from McNeese State University in 1968 where he
studied Business Education.
Mr. Shirley married Melinda Scoggins and they have been married for over thirty-three years.
He has worked with the Beauregard Parish School System where he touched the lives of many students. He also has worked in the Insurance field and at Fort Polk Military Base.
He served as a Vietnam Veteran. He is currently serving his 5th term as Police Juror for District 3E. He has served on several committees, including personnel, insurance, and finance.
